Pancakes, Hotcakes, Griddlecakes, Flapjacks?

Posted by Anthony Mango Sunday, September 20, 2009

Which are they? Personally, I say pancakes. Why? Because to me, pancakes is not only the most common way to say it around my area, but the other three options are weird. Hotcakes...all cakes are hot at first. Griddlecakes is the most logical, but at the same time, you can cook them on a pan as well as the griddle, so you have to weight - do I just say "pan", or "griddle"? Two syllables for griddle, so you go with simplicity. Flapjacks...well, that's just odd.

Why did I write a blog about this? I don't know lol. Insights into insanity.
